BOO!!! BOO!! BOO!!! BOO!!!! BOO!!!!!!
so maybe watching "100 top scary movie moments" wasnt such a hot idea as i am working late and looking after 6 kids in this huge house all by mysalf. this 4 story house is made for a scary movie i tell ya! where would i run, where would i hide this litter of children. I just finished a routine bed check ( being over protective being my first time over night) and found myself freaking out walking up the stairs with the phone in my hand. but That 70s Show should get me through it all, oh whats that its a Halloween episode night, oh darn.
Halloween is so much fun. I was up til mid night lastnight baking some deliciously cute pumpkin and ghost cookies, and have been turning on the jack o lantern light display in the front window nightly. The streets just wont be the same post-halloween, where will i get my daily pumpkin in the streets fix? uuhhaa i wont, thats right.
Australia just called and informed me off all the lands happening, of course including the Aust Idol low down. must say i happy Chanel is O_U_T. yeah yeah nice to know its the perfect temperature there. i just not bothering to convert it over here then i will never really know the temp, oh the denial.
Tree is in a wedding this weekend, how i would love to see that. it could be the cutest thing ever, cha cha cha.
i need to go shopping, with two pay cheques under my belt and DC malls calling my name, it has to happen. shit do i need to start thinking bout sending off christmas gifts yet? how long should it take i wonder....
oh and i cant believe i neglected to tell that i saw a real life Sponge Bob high Pants at the Drag parade the other night. and i heard him sqeeek to his off sider " are my sleves sticking out" how fantabulous. i scored a John Kerry badge too, add that to the collection for sure. not sure it tops J's Sale of the Century one but i'll give ya a hot tip...its darn close.
i got told today by miss 7 year old that Madonna and Hilary Duff are inappropriate. love it

Metro Girl
i went out to Dupont Circle with some girls lastnight. lets break it down in to two sections...
Dupont Circle was having some type of Drag queen parade and high heel race, which we unfortunately missed. but we did make it in time to catch the after party in the street which was so much fun. I obviously (oh so obviously) had seen it all before but never tire of it. There was one dressed as Cinderella who i came across every time i turned around, as she ran frantically through the crowd shreeking about her lost shoe. she was great. There was JFK and Marilyn, Princess Di, Scoooby Dooo, ones with head pieces made from things like McDonalds and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, and what possibly couldve been my favourite.... this queen dressed in a jail outfit holding a purse that read "FREE MARTHA".
Dupont seems like a fun place to go out and eat and spend loads of money shopping, so now that i have caught a train and am no longer a Metro virgin, i might have to head back there soon.
now as for the girls, hmm very nice of them to call me and invite me out seeing as we had never met, but it was a tad weird. i mean its cool coz i found that i am way cooler then them, and i had fun getting out of the house and all that. so one of them is 18 and out of control, thinking everyone she passes is the love of her life, and yelling and all that but she actually could potentially be fun. in a under agers kind of way. And the other is 22 and abit of a Jonsey if that makes sense to anyone. hmm at least i will have a designated driver is all i say. i shouldnt really say that coz they could be my only friends but hey,....that aint mine!! They are going to a halloween party on some army base that i think i might pass up on as it sound completely dodge and not sure i trust them enough to get me home in one piece for work on Sunday. pfft work on Sunday, but thats my fun day!! We are hosting some neighbourhood halloween party at work, how spooktacular!
So i rang this friend of mine, well met him Sunday but clearly he has no choice and is going to be my friend, and now for some reason i am nervous about him calling or NOT calling back. hmm tis strange. patience patience.
think i might be getting home sick, but trying not to think about it so hopefully it all goes away. oh its all happy sad happy sad.
i am only working 12 to 7 at the moment, how i love to sleep in. getting up for a walk tomorow tho to hopefully aid the waking up process...
hmm cable tv but struggling to find a channel to satisfy

i have Tootsie Roll in my teeth!
so today was my official first day out in America which was so much fun. i am kinda lacking knowledge about where it was exactly i went but i can testify that i had fun. praise the lord i had fun. Going to Juannas church may have been the most weirdest thing that i have done in ages but i really did have the funnest time ever. i do believe i have never shaken so many hands in my life and smiled so hard as i pretend i know what they are saying to me, but they were so friendly and i even stayed for dinner with everyone afterwards. hmmm welcome to the world of Fried Chicken and corn bread. There was singing, there was clapping, there were praises and preaching and a whole lot of fun. It kinda felt like i had fallen asleep in bed and waken up to a mix between the telly blearing out those late night/early morning preaching shows and a scene from Sister Act. i do believe i would've actually been up for a high five by the end of it, if one was coming my way. i had a fun ass time. oh dont get me wrong, by the end of it i was over it, oh let that be known...
We then went and picked up(in a Caddilac) Juannas son who hung out with us for the rest of the day. ha ha i have a new friend called Omar!! We were on a hunt for an power point adapter so i can use my aussie hair straightner but i eventually just bought a new one. yay its SO goodbye to Miss Frizz, oh god frizzy lizzy is always around.
I just got back from seeing 'The Grudge' which i had earlier read about. It was scary and aweful but thankfully i dont live in Tokyo so i dont think i will loose sleep over it. I think it was originally a Japanese movie and in some hideous ways reminded me of The Ring. hmm the ad for the Ring2 might give me nightmares tho.
hmm do you think today was a set up??? either way it was funny and hee i got his number!
I SAW A BEAVER!! ( oh i wish i did have a pair!!)

when asked the question "do you want to take me new big ass car out on your own and practice driving, which is completely backwards to what your used to??" clearly i said "sure"
ok so nearly a week into my stay here and i got the guts to go driving. i mean it was quick and i didnt venture too far away, and i nealy developed instant hives from high levels of anxiety and stress but hey i made it home again as did the car. i am gegging to go again! i fink the worst part is over now! Before i left my Dad gave me some pointers which at the time i was like yeah yeah mr you have never driven outside of Australia, but today found some sense in what he was saying, oh cheers to ya head. You best believe i cranked up the radio, Classic Rock station did well.
So the grandparents are in town this weekend. and they are so Jerry Sienfelds parents, and they are really from Florida. They are unintentionally hilarious, and for a brief moment today i was caught in the middle of a sitcom. I will never know whats going on with those dark glasses, they were wearing inside at night time. fuck eyed perhapes.
I have befriended a lady that also works in this house that is taking me out tomorrow and showing me around maryland a little, which is where she lives. i do not know if thats a good thing or not yet but looking forward to getting out of the house either way. there might be church involved hmmmm.....

after managing to do the most inappropriate and memorable (if only i could remember it) farewells to my dear sweet ass friends at the Espy on Friday night i was then left to face the world on my own. ouch i was not in the right state of mind for that but hey some how i got through it and managed to get myself to Washington DC, you know as in the United States of America!!! oh god!
actually scratch all that because the first thing anybody needs to know is that flying from Atlanta to here, this is a conversation that of course iinvolved me.....
me window seat... lady about to seat next to me, struggling with her on board luggage....
FLIGHT ATTENDANT THINGY says "please make sure the bag is completely zipped at all times, itcan be under the seat but it has to be closed completely"
lady makes a 'yikes' like facial expression at me and continued to push bag delicately under the seat in front. After not really being able to talk to anyone before now i, without thinking, said
"whats in the bag"
she(lets call her Brenda) replies "IT'S JESSIE!!!! a kitty!!!!"

enough said. ps she turned out to be quite wonderful and its now the best story of my life, and jessie remained calm and didnt make me sneeze.
how much would you pay me to catch a squirrel and have it on a hot pink leash? oh i wan it i wan it!!
how on earth am i ever suppose to drive in this country? it really is going to be insane and i could possibly die. i cant even be a safe pedestrian let alone drive a huge family car full of kids. ha unless its the weekend and i want to cruise the streets of DC and shop til i drop. hmm i so need to buy some more appropriate clothes.

i really am here, oh you better believe it.

well aint i just the little camper girl, yes siree i went camping with my dad and sisters over the long weekend and had so much fun. just like the good ol days! well not quite as this was a camping ground unlike the middle of nowhere and there were actually toilets and showers if you dont mind sneaking through the caravan park. needless to say i had no problem with that. i did have a little problem with the teens who were camping there with their parents for the school holidays, i mean chickis we are sitting near a fire and yaas are still strutting ya stuff in minis and singlets, who ya trying to impress, the jolly swagman?? geeza pass me my wine and some more fire wood. Saw Donnas baby, oh gosh i have never seen a baby so tiny, she is so angelic. all happy and healthy. hmm so the whole 'goodbye, not gonna see you for a whole year thing' has started and umm yes the fact that i am leaving is all feeling real now. oh what is with this crying out of the blue thing? anyway i must have something in my eye :( and what a bizzarre thing i just had happen to me. just popped over to Nans for dinner, and then she has me going through her China to pick out something i would like when she dies. umm its kinda sad thinking about it nan, geez thats not really what i want to be thinking about when hugging her at the airport. she reckons shes an old duck that needs to think of these things before its too late. bless her, once again. i wondering how i will get through all of this..... but how damne cool!!!! hmm what are the chances of getting a window seat???
